Adam put his machete to good use doing some landscaping. That's how we do it here in Suriname. :) 

First time painting with water colors.

We put together a little rice table. It's a hit but it's messy. And our patio is useless when it's wet outside so this idea may not work out as well as I'd envisioned.

Millie has taken to holding food in her mouth rather than chewing it and swallowing it. Sometimes she keeps it in there for like thirty minutes. Here's hoping she outgrows this phase soon.

Wrestling is a favorite pastime right now. Millie usually starts it.

We started a little garden and it's doing rather well if I do say so.

My DIY topsy turvy.

The past two weeks since my mom left have been harder than I expected. We're having a hard time getting back into a groove. It hasn't helped that I've been pretty sick and we had maintenance at our house every day last week. I'm hoping that from here on out things will go more smoothly.

I think having my mom visit also helped me to realize just how lonely I've been. I'd kind of forgotten what it was like to have adults to interact with during the day, and now that I've been reminded I miss it all the more. I think I'm getting used to Suriname, but it's hard not having any friends. There is a really great family at church that we spend quite a bit of time with and one of Adam's coworkers has become a good friend, but they all work during the day and that's when I really miss having friends. There's a new family coming in a few short (or long in my case) weeks and I'm hoping that will help break up the drudgery. Here's hoping...
