Just living

Charlie loves the kids I babysit. He will just look at Ben and laugh and laugh even though Ben isn't doing anything. He thinks Ben in the funniest kid ever!

And Charlie will follow Eli all around. He's gotten so much steadier on his feet that he can now brave grass in order to follow Eli.

Clapping for one of the boys. :)

So the other day I wasn't in the best mood. Charlie had been fussy all day and I was running out of patience. Charlie was wandering around the house and ended up in his room playing with his toys while I was on the computer. A few minutes later he came walking up to me with his arms full of diapers and a huge proud smile on his face. It was so funny I couldn't help but laugh. Then I went into his room and found diapers spread all over the floor. I have no idea what the draw is but he loves carrying diapers around. Although he's never done this before. This kid just cracks me up!

Charlie always wants to shake the lamp but then it tips over and scares him. We just can't keep him away from it.

Here's a less successful attempt at dinner.

Apple Picking

Some friends invited us to go apple picking with them on Monday. Thanks so much Rachel!

I was surprised at how much Charlie enjoyed it. He grabbed a Charlie-sized apple right off the tree and started chomping away. It was so cute.

The guys entertained themselves with a game of "Apple 500" using an apple picker (that greatly resembled a lacrosse stick to our untrained eyes).

Charlie having some fun in the pumpkins.

Naomi loves Charlie and always hugs him and tries to help him walk - even though he's almost as big as she is. What a sweetie.

Everyone but me!

Our favorite find.

The results - my very first apple pie. It may not be much to look at but it sure tasted good. Thanks Becca for the recipe (from like 3 years ago at HFPE!).

First Haircut!!!

I cannot believe how different Charlie looks with short hair. He is still super cute but I just can't get used to it yet (granted it has only been one day). He looks so much older to me and it makes me a little sad. But the back of his hair was all nasty and mulletish and we could not allow that to go on. So we broke out the scissors and the clippers and here's the new Charlie!

Also, I wanted to thank you all for your shoe tips - so helpful! I ended up finding some at JCPenney (in the kids section - not the shoe section) but I am going to use all your tips for his next pair! Thank you thank you thank you!!!
