I think evil eye pics are hilarious. So does my dad - this one's for you Dad!
Sick eye. Apparently this is a phlyctenule or a bacteria that got into his eye. It took a pediatrician, and ER doc, and a pediatric ophthalmologist approximately 8.5 hours to figure it out. Luckily the medicine cleared it right up. This is actually the the day after he started meds - it was much worse the day before.
In addition to his poor eye, Charlie had double ear infections again. And, as a matter of fact, I also had double ear infections - and a sinus infection. It was a fun couple of weeks!
Charlie insisted on holding four pretzel sticks and his milk cup all at once. It took some doing but he eventually got it.
Adam and I celebrated my birthday a couple weeks ago by going out to dinner to our favorite Thai place. One of my lovely visiting teachers babysat for us so we could go kid-free. What a nice change! We actually attempted to get Indian food first (my fave) but had a terrible experience at our formerly favorite Indian restaurant, Bombay Gaylord. The guy was such a jerk! We have been going there for about four years and always get pretty much the same thing which requires them to add raisins to a particular dish. We've been getting the exact dish with the exact modification for well over a year now. When we tried to place our order we were very curtly told they would not add raisins and we could only order exactly what was on the menu. I politely asked if there was any way they could work with us as we'd been getting the same thing at that same restaurant for so long. Nope. I told them they were our favorite local Indian restaurant but that we would take our business elsewhere if they couldn't work with us and provide us with the same addition they always had. He very rudely told me that was fine and walked away. I could not believe it. We've been going there for years and they wouldn't add raisins to my dish. Give me a break. So we will not be eating there ever again. Jerks.
Charlie found a new love in ketchup.

Mmmm, yum, I love ketchup too. I can't believe that about the Indian Restaurant. Lame. Happy belated birthday. Glad the Thai restaurant could accomadate.
That's really sad about the Indian restaurant. Everyone seemed so nice when you took me there last year. It's a shame, but maybe you can find an even better one in your area. You should search on Yelp.
Also, I love the way your hair looks in those ketchup photos!
Hey Natalie - lovely blog, your family is so photogenic and cute! I still can't believe that guy at that restaurant - so rude! You're so funny though, and it was great seeing you guys tonight too!
That is so ridiculous about the restaurant - sorry to hear! Glad you got to have a night out to celebrate your birthday though!!!
And sorry to hear you have been sick- that is no fun!! Hope everyone is on the mend!
You should tell that Indian guy to put out a new sign in front of his restaurant: BYOR (Bring your own raisins!) haha I miss that Thai place though, yummy!!
ooh glad you guys got to go out! but i must say.... i believe the BEST RESTAURANT IN TOWN is NEXT to that exact same Thai restaurant... :) to the left of it to be more specific. for fun, i think i'll go to bombay gaylord and ask for your modification and see what their reaction is- they'll be like "dang, that's a popular modification!" happy birthday natalie- nothing like a baby that feels better for a birthday gift!
So fun catching up on your family through your blog. I'm sorry you've been sick, hope everyone is feeling better soon, and so sorry about the disapointing restaurant experience. I hate things like that. You totally feel like you can't go back to a place you used to love! :( I really think Kristine should go and ask for the same thing. Maybe get the whole ward in on it! ;)
That eye is so sad. And a double ear infection! I'm glad you feel better.
Happy late birthday!
that sucks. i hate being sick and i really hate seeing my baby sick! so having that together has to really suck. hope you guys are doing better now.
Is that the Thai restaurant in Silver Spring? If so it's one of my faves to. Happy birthday a little late. Glad you got to go out and celebrate sans the ankle biting rug monkey!
Happy late birthday!
I can't believe how big Charlie is getting. I hate to tell you but he looks more like a toddler than a baby! I hope you guys are feeling better now.
