What a day!

This day was so long. First of all Charlie decided that he didn't want to sleep anymore after his 5:30am feeding. Luckily he eventually went back to sleep but still. Then I had to get up early (early for me that is) to go to the car seat check to make sure our new car seat is installed correctly. (Charlie just outgrew his infant carseat.) On our short drive home Charlie fell asleep in his now correctly installed car seat (which is not portable) so I sat in the car for 30 minutes reading my book before I finally just woke him up. (Ironic since he never sleeps for more than 30 minutes at home...) I got home only to have to leave 30 minutes later in order to run to Babies R Us before Charlie's doctor appointment. In my haste I burned my tongue trying to inhale my lunch so we wouldn't be late. We made it to BRU where I returned what I needed to and did a little shopping. On my way out I realized that I no longer had my wallet. Great. With 15 minutes until the dr appointment I went to the customer service desk (no luck) and quickly retraced my steps (also with no luck). At that point I had no choice but to leave my name and number (while praying that someone honest would find my wallet) and leave for the dr. I made it on time (relatively) and Charlie is fine. Just a few ounces shy of 20 lbs at 5 months, but nice and healthy. I called BRU to check on the status of my wallet (again no luck) so I headed home to put Charlie down for a nap. Not 5 minutes from our house he again fell asleep. I got the stroller out and just as I was about to remove him from his car seat my phone rang. It was BRU and they had my wallet (thank you honest wallet-finder)! Thank goodness I hadn't woken Charlie up yet. I hopped back in the car (trying to ignore the fact that I was pretty close to peeing my pants) and headed back to BRU (which happens to be 15 minutes on the opposite side of my dr's office). Charlie woke up in the BRU parking lot (precisely 30 minutes after falling asleep) and in we went. I got my wallet and made a beeline for the restroom. Then I had to feed Charlie who had been a great little trooper especially for all the car seat time he'd been logging. On our way out the Kiddie Kandids staff were oohing
and ahhing over my cute baby and the next thing I knew I was having Charlie's picture taken. I'm still not quite sure how that happened. Nice little ploy, eh? Oh what a cute baby! We just have to take his picture! I'll give you a free 8x10! And $50 later (yes, I restrained myself) I finally headed home with some cute (although totally unplanned for) pictures. Just as I pulled into my parking lot guess who fell asleep again? Sigh...I just woke him up and brought him in. Finally he's taking a little nap now and I hope it doesn't destroy the rest of the night. So for all my stress of today at least I got some cute pictures, eh? And now I'll just have to watch my accounts for a few weeks to make sure they weren't compromised. All's well that ends well right? (And if you actually read all this I'm REALLY impressed!!!)

Love the pictures... totally worth it! I hate to say it, but you will continue to have days like that for years to come. There is no such thing as a quick errand anymore. I frequent any and all businesses that have a drive-through!

Those pics did turn out great! That was a great move on Kiddie Kandid's part to move in with BRU. Tons of moms with adorable kids walking by every day! :) I'm really glad that someone honest found and turned in your wallet as well. I am someone who loses things like wallets on a pretty regular basis so I appreciate honest people. And I've also noticed that babies tend to sleep best when it's the most inconvenient for mommy.

Hello Natalie! This is Jackie - thank you for posting on my blog - I found yours and your little family is SO dang cute. Charlie is a doll - which I actually heard that from my friend Nicole (you had her do pictures while you were here and she called and told me). He is very cute. And, so is the cat - I agree that animals are definitely part of the family. How are other things going in life? Do you work there? What does Adam do - it sounds like he might be in school there? It is good to hear from you!

Well seriously, that super-sucks about your wallet. Charlie is so cute. I can't believe that he weighs 20 lbs! No wonder he's outgrown his infant carrier, that's always a sad day. I hope you find your wallet:)

p.s. Your haircut is cute
