Well, I've yet to organize my pictures from while I was gone so I'm sorry for the lack of pictures. But we've been busy Ferberizing Charlie. Well, technically we've just begun as last night was our first night.
For those of you who don't know what Ferberizing is, here's a pic of the book. Basically we're allowing Charlie to learn how to fall asleep on his own. We put him to bed and then go in and check on him periodially while continuing to increase the time between checks (but only 3 increases per night). Eventually he will fall asleep on his own. Yes it can be a little traumatic (mostly for the parents) but we feel it will be the best for us all in the long run. And really, Charlie has been doing fantastic - especially considering how we decided to also eliminate his pacifier and swaddle at the same time. I'm not saying it was fun, but it could have been much worse. And maybe I'll be completely hating life tomorrow, but for now we're happy with the results. And really Charlie has hardly even seemed to miss the pacifier as long as he has something else to chew/suck on. So wish us luck for night number two!

Yea!!! Glad it is working. If it doesn't work come on over, we can have a dose of midnight chocolate ice cream:)
It works! It works! I am a huge fan of this method. Couldn't have survived without it. Keep at it and good luck!
It won't take long before he gets it! I finally let Asher learn to fall asleep on his own and he did great for several months! You will find he will go through stages with sleep though. Asher had a great routine for a while. I would read a story and give him a bottle and he knew once we went in his room he was going to bed and I could just lay him down, no problem and he would fall asleep. Now he needs to snuggle in bed with me and fall asleep with me before I can put him in his crib or there is never ending crying. Hopefully this little stage wont' last long. He has been sleeping through the night again and that's good!!!!
I am such a believer in the Ferber method! It worked wonders for us after a year of no sleep. I only wished I would have tried it sooner! :)
